Pioneering Podiatry: Amniotic Tissue Graft Treatments
At The Foot & Ankle Center, we recognize the demands of modern life, from work and household responsibilities to exercise and leisure activities. We also understand how foot and ankle health issues can disrupt these routines and significantly affect your overall well-being. That’s why our team of highly skilled podiatrists provides the best possible care, including innovative regenerative medicine solutions like amniotic tissue grafts.
Why Should You Consider Amniotic Tissue Grafts?
These tissue grafts derive from the amniotic membrane and are rich in amino acids, cytokines, growth factors, nutrients, and stem cells, imparting significant therapeutic benefits:
- Accelerated the healing process
- Inflammation and pain management
- Reduced scar tissue formation

Heal Wounds and Ulcers
Medical professionals can engineer amniotic tissue grafts to promote advanced healing for patients with ulcers and slow-healing wounds. This form of regenerative medicine is particularly effective in treating injuries of individuals with diabetes.
Diabetic Foot Ulcers and Wounds
Diabetic foot ulcer is one of the most common and dangerous complications of diabetes. Hyperglycemia is the primary cause.
Ineffective Diabetic Wound Healing
Hyperglycemia-induced nerve damage and poor blood circulation slow or halt the body’s natural healing process and reduce a patient’s ability to feel pain.
Return to normal footwear and most activities in 4 months
Open wounds increase the risk of hospitalization due to wound infections, gangrene, and amputation.
Amniotic Skin Grafts at
The Foot & Ankle Center
- Your appointment for receiving the amniotic skin graft will be in-office at your Foot & Ankle Center location.
- The procedure does not require anesthesia, injections, or stitches.
- Your podiatrist will directly place the paper-like tissue graft over your ulcer or wound.
- The tissue graft will be secured to the wounded area with adhesive strips.
- Weekly appointments to replace the tissue graft will continue until the wound is healed.

Injections for Ligament, Tendon, and Joint Injuries
Amniotic fluid injections are another form of amniotic tissue graft treatment. These injections are administered into an injured area, offering an alternative solution to surgery for certain patients experiencing issues such as plantar fasciitis, all types of acute or chronic tendon injuries, and joint osteoarthritis.
Injections at The Foot & Ankle Center
- The appointment where you receive an amniotic tissue allograft will be in-office at your Foot & Ankle Center location.
